After successfully completing the Instructors Development Course (IDC) you’ll be well prepared for the final phase of becoming a PADI Instructor, the PADI IE (instructor Exams)
The PADI IE is always scheduled immediately following Go Pro Cayman's IDC's
The IE is a standardized, objective evaluation conducted by Instructor Examiners from PADI Headquarters. Therefore, it has no affiliation with Go Pro Cayman or any other Instructor Development Center. Only PADI Headquarters Instructor Examiners are involved. Go Pro Cayman will provide the transportation necessary for carrying your equipment and cylinders to and from the pool and open water examination sites.
Instructor candidates must successfully complete the following exams and perform the following skills:
CLASSROOM

5-part theory exam on Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Skills & Environment and the PADI Recreational Dive Planner - multiple choice, true/false, 12 questions on each topic exam

PADI Systems, Standards & Procedures exam - multiple choice, open book, 50 question exam

Perform 1 Knowledge Development Prescriptive Teaching Presentation
POOL

Demonstrate a five skill circuit as detailed by the Examiners

Perform 1 Confined Water Teaching Presentation
OPEN WATER

Perform an Unconscious Diver at the surface rescue to demonstration quality

Perform 1 Open Water Teaching Presentation with two skills combined
Go Pro Cayman IDC graduates also receive a Go Pro t-shirt, for portraying a professional appearance at the PADI IE.

Successful completion of a PADI IDC, OWSI or Status Update, Be a current EFR Instructor (This is included in all of our long term programs)

The exams are in the system of your choice (metric or imperial)

The IE is available in various languages, as long as we know ahead of time, in order for PADI to provides us the available exam

Even if the presentation is timed, we take consideration of your difficulties for a different language.

We care for you a lot! Ash, our Course Director will be with you as a moral support and moreover because he is the one who organize those IE. But we really think that the Course director should be present

Though rare, in case of failure in the IE, you won’t have to do an entire IE again. The IE is split is several sections. You will be able to retake the section(s) you missed after 5 days, at any location that an IE is taking place. You also only pay for the section you missed.
For Admittance you must be :

Have completed an Instructor Development Course (IDC)

Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months

Be an Emergency First Response Instructor

Be a PADI DiveMaster or hold an equivalent certification

18 years of age or older
-
Have a PADI Medical ( PADI medical form) signed by a physician

Be a DAN member and hold DAN Insurance
-
Have proof of 100 logged dives

The Instructors Exam is an important PADI evaluation, applied to all PADI Instructor Candidates worldwide, thus assuring consistently high instructors’ standards.
